Practical Installation Tips for the Best Fitment
Even with the precision machining behind our FMAs, every platform has slight tolerances—and Hyundai N models are no exception. During our own Sparco QRT-R install, we found one trick that dramatically streamlines the process, especially when dealing with the notoriously stubborn fourth anchor bolt.
Here’s the method that works flawlessly:
1. Install the VAC Floor Mount Adapters firmly first.
Fully tighten the FMAs to the car’s floor pan. This gives you a rigid foundation and removes any unwanted play.
2. Assemble the seat and side mounts loosely.
Attach your QRT-R (or any seat) to your side mounts, but keep all bolts just barely threaded.
This flexibility is key.
3. Loosely thread in three of the four seat-to-floor bolts.
They should go in easily. Leave them loose to maximize alignment movement.
4. Use the slack to align the final bolt.
This is the bolt that tends to fight installation. Because everything else is loose, the entire assembly can shift just enough to let the fourth bolt catch the threads cleanly.
5. Once all four bolts are in, tighten everything in stages.
Start with the seat-to-floor bolts, then tighten the side-mount hardware, and finally tighten any sliders (if used).
This step-by-step approach ensures the seat sits perfectly aligned and eliminates the frustration of tightening too early.
